RECENT EVENTS


A new sub-group of BESA called the Suppliers Association of Learning Technology and Interoperability in Schools has been formed. Mike Collett has made presentations to this group and Schemeta is supportive of these activities.



RECENT PROJECTS

Schemeta recently undertook an in-depth study of the use of formal standards for e-learning for BSI British Standards.




The QIA Skills for Life Improvement Programme

The Quality Improvement Agency (QIA) is funding a second year of the Skills for Life Improvement Programme. The key aim of the programme is to improve teaching, learning and achievement in literacy, language and numeracy. Jenny is involved in three aspects of this year's schemes.

  • Developing a Whole Organisation Approach led by CfBT, where she is a Development Adviser working with a group of Work Based Providers.
  • Embedding Skills for Life, led by LSN supporting providers to embed Skills for Life effectively so learners can make effective progress in their vocational studies.
  • NRDC: Developing Flexible Provision Projects where she is a consultant.

Harnessing Technology: Transforming Learning and Children's ServicesThe DfES E-Strategy - Harnessing Technology Publication

On 15 March 2005, the DfES (Department for Education and Skills) published the e-Strategy 'Harnessing Technology: Transforming learning and children's services'.

Schemeta was part of the consultation process for this document.
